Run Time

2 hours

(PG-13) A revealing look at the life of accomplished author J.D. Salinger--who fled fame and recognition (primarily from his famous novel CATCHER IN THE RYE) but stirred controversy with a personal life involving young women (always very young and impressionable). Apparently video and audio of Salinger doesn't exist, so director Shane Salerno's compelling portrait of this notorious recluse (living in Cornish, NH) consists of black and white photos and people offering interesting insights about him. On Tuesday, October 15 at 6 o'clock bring your memories of reading CATCHER IN THE RYE or of encountering J.D. Salinger here in NH, and join us for a conversation about the author after the film, with Kevin Flynn, author of "Desperately Seeking Salinger" for New Hampshire Magazine, Prof. Kate McGovern of UNH Law, and others.
