CRDT, was founded in 2009, originally a Company in Residence at Joy of Motion Dance Center, as one of the East Coast's first adult ballet companies. The goal is to provide adult ballet dancers, from advanced beginner to advanced level, the unique learning experience to train in a professional environment and opportunities to perform diverse styles of classical to contemporary repertory. Local, national and international guest artists are presented each season, such as Gloria Contreras, Tony Powell, Kathleen Weitz, among others. The Company provides their dancers with the opportunity to work with a team of outstanding rehearsal directors and faculty, such as Alvaro Palau (Columbian, formerly Washington Ballet), Chika Imamura (Japan), among others, with a focus on technique and consistent training during the rehearsal and performance process. CRDT also provides members the opportunity to develop production, arts management, leadership and publicity skills. There is an annual audition with an adjudicated panel of professionals from the Washington metropolitan area. For more information, contact: miyahisaka@gmail.com
