Roots, Reality & Rhyme is a poetic journey that follows a female protagonist as she traverses the domains of childhood, adolescence, relationships and motherhood while also navigating the realities of being poor, Black and woman in America. In a world that declares war on her identity and personhood, from the playground and living room to the workplace, she learns to love herself.
