A FACE IN THE CROWD - Directors and Their Craft

A FACE IN THE CROWD - Directors and Their Craft

Red River Theatres

Red River Theatres (Concord, NH)

An exploration into the art form of filmmaking. RRT will focus one director each month, presenting two works that are meant to widen the viewer's perspective. Our June director is ELIA KAZAN. A discussion will follow each film with host Barry Steelman and film fan Emma Martin.
A FACE IN THE CROWD (NR/1957/125 min.)
An ignorant, guitar-playing hobo (Andy Griffith), discovered by a radio reporter (Patricia Neal) in an Arkansas jail, is skillfully promoted into being a successful--and unscrupulous--TV star. Director Elia Kazan and writer Budd Schulberg teamed again to bring forth a devastating study about a fascinating, power-hungry personality and provocative media manipulation. Walter Matthau, Anthony Franciosa and Lee Remick co-star.
